Suivez le guide: A Flexible Office Design by Five Am

Award-winning design revolutionizes office spaces

Suivez le guide was born out of the need to create a dynamic and multi-functional space in the heart of several offices. The design team at Five Am took on the challenge of filling a large empty area with furniture that would encourage interaction and productivity. The result is a series of seven plywood volumes that can be easily moved and rearranged to accommodate different activities.

Each box in the Suivez le guide collection serves a specific purpose. There is a box for mail, a rest box for moments of solitude, two desk boxes for individual or collaborative work, two meeting boxes of different sizes, and a recreational box for relaxation and fun activities like golf or darts. The dimensions of the boxes vary, but they all share a height of 2.10m and a width of 3m, with depths ranging from 1.50m to 0.6m.

What sets Suivez le guide apart is its mobility and adaptability. The boxes are mounted on a steel rail that spans 13 meters, allowing users to easily slide them along the track to create the desired configuration. The rolling system is inspired by the archive systems used in many firms, providing a space-saving solution that can be customized to meet the changing needs of the users.

The boxes are made from varnished plywood, giving them a sleek and modern look. The interior of each box is lined with felt, which acts as an acoustic layer, ensuring privacy and reducing noise levels. Some boxes are even equipped with LED lights powered by batteries, adding a touch of ambiance to the workspace.

One of the main challenges faced by the design team was convincing the client to embrace this unconventional approach to office furniture. Breaking away from traditional designs required a shift in mindset, but the result is a space that encourages creativity, collaboration, and flexibility.

Suivez le guide has received widespread recognition for its innovative design. In 2013, it was awarded the Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design category. This prestigious accolade acknowledges the design's outstanding creativity, resourcefulness, and contribution to improving the quality of life in the workplace.
